HealthSouth Corporation Announces Amendments to Loan Agreements

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.

HealthSouth Corporation (OTC Pink Sheets: HLSH) announced today that, in addition to its announcement yesterday that it has received the necessary consents of the holders of each series of its outstanding notes, it has executed agreements with respect to its $200 million senior unsecured term loan agreement and its $355 million senior subordinated credit agreement. These agreements, coupled with the consents, will allow HealthSouth to move forward on its previously announced plan to prepay substantially all of its existing indebtedness with the proceeds from a proposed series of recapitalization transactions.
