HealthSouth Corporation today announced it has signed a letter of intent to partner with TMC HealthCare in Tucson, Ariz., to provide rehabilitation services.

Under the proposed agreement, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson would provide rehabilitation and therapy services currently provided at El Dorado Hospital in Tucson and select TMC outpatient therapies.

"HealthSouth is pleased to further expand the healthcare services we offer to the Tucson community," said HealthSouth President and CEO Jay Grinney. "This partnership demonstrates the progress HealthSouth is making toward executing our vision to grow our post-acute services in strategic, growing markets."

HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson for more than a decade has provided high quality healthcare to the Tucson community. The 80-bed facility is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The transaction is scheduled to be completed by the end of the third quarter of this year.
